It's iiNet technical support phoning me back about a definite landline incoming call problem I reported last week. They actually managed to attempt to call my landline from an Optus mobile and got the same weird message, word for word that other Optus/ Dodo and Vodafone customers received. They tried to do a fix an hour ago but it hasn't worked yet? I'm glad I didn't have to call them because they are in WA - even though that number should be a free call for me as an iiNet home phone customer. It's not spam and they are not calling from overseas either, so relax.

Several times this month I've been called by this number . They hang up before I answer, usually on the third ring . I suggest this is probably a spoof by the telemarketing company for iinet clocking up calls for which they can charge the client,( iinet. ). They never actually talk to the recipient but log the call as a telemarketing cold call and charge it to their customer. Nasty practice which inevitably costs consumers more for already expensive phone services. Don't try to call this number back as it will cost you a call you otherwise wouldn't have made.

iiNet support. This is a legitimate number, although the call centre could by located anywhere in the world. My experience is that they did not assist with the problem I was having.
