How long has this service been running and who is it for?
The service was created in 2011 in the Czech Republic. It is an online forum where the users can share their experience with phone numbers, both annoying (mostly telemarketing, surveys) and useful (e.g. couriers, offices)..
Since the beginning, the service has been received very well, which led to localization into more languages. Nowadays, the forum exists in more than 20 languages and 34 countries throughout the world.
The service is intended for anyone who wants to identify the owner of an unknown phone number. The creators of the forum have also recently created the mobile app Call Insider for Android phones. This app, which is connected to the database of the website numberlookup.com.au, also allows users to automatically block telemarketing numbers.
These spam calls with international numbers, mostly from African and Southeast Asian countries, along with fake messages from unknown users, have flooded WhatsApp and Indians have nowhere to go but Twitter to share their ordeal.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) based portal that will allow tracking and blocking of lost and stolen mobile phones.

Called about green peace, asking questions about where I work and where I'm from, spoke about the plastic problems in the ocean and eventually worked up to asking for my details to give money to 'help put an end to plastic use'. I told them I was uncomfortable giving any details about my card over the phone and asked if there was an online service I could look into first, to which of course the reply was no. She pressed and pressed for my details. Everything about it felt off. Not a call I'd trust at all.

Called no message left. Blocked number. Received a voice text and it goes for only 3 seconds. Lots of noise in background (like a party) andthe voice who is calling is a male who sounds Indian "may" be saying something similar to "hello how are you" but it is absolutely most definately not in English. Maybe he was talking to someone and unfortunately for him because I blocked the number it went straight to voicemail when he tried calling. HOW DO YOU KEEP GETTING EVERYONES NUMBER!?!?!?!?

I called back number 0488 828 540. It doesn't even answer before it cuts out. It must have incoming calls blocked. I have been inquiring online to do a course and I suspect it is the same company or telemarketer.
I sent them 30 messages for them to delete my contact details so hopefully they block me and Ive blocked them!
