How long has this service been running and who is it for?
The service was created in 2011 in the Czech Republic. It is an online forum where the users can share their experience with phone numbers, both annoying (mostly telemarketing, surveys) and useful (e.g. couriers, offices)..
Since the beginning, the service has been received very well, which led to localization into more languages. Nowadays, the forum exists in more than 20 languages and 34 countries throughout the world.
The service is intended for anyone who wants to identify the owner of an unknown phone number. The creators of the forum have also recently created the mobile app Call Insider for Android phones. This app, which is connected to the database of the website numberlookup.com.au, also allows users to automatically block telemarketing numbers.
Scammers are posing as police officers to try and dupe people into handing over financial information. Phone calls even appear to come from a local police station, say officers from Camden Police Area Command in NSW, which is a warning the public to beware of the new tactics.

called asking for personal info. i asked her to identify herself if she is from the bank and she should know some basic and non-confidential info, but she refused and said everything is confidential. i cut the call and called back the NAB. They can check in their record whether there's someone from the bank calling me but no record at all. a pure scam.

Supposed to be NAB bank but provides fake web page address. Correct web page is www.nab.com.au do not log into your NAB internet banking on their site and only call the correct number 132265 Then be transferred to correct department to be safe.
