The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) is warning the public to be vigilant of scam calls that appear to be coming from numbers similar to their own. Commonly, the first seven digits (07nnnnn) match the victim’s own number.
Many of us now refuse to answer telephone calls from an unknown number, for fear that it could be a scam. And we dread receiving a text message, purportedly from our bank or a delivery firm, again due to concerns that it might be from fraudsters.
Why would i have a caller from PERTH in Australia call me??? My retirement village is in Katherine. Just a scammer dialing random or onsold numbers, but hey if I get bored one day I might answer them & tell them all my war stories. Im not that bored actually. We are having a bingo night Thursday. Yeha.
