How long has this service been running and who is it for?
The service was created in 2011 in the Czech Republic. It is an online forum where the users can share their experience with phone numbers, both annoying (mostly telemarketing, surveys) and useful (e.g. couriers, offices)..
Since the beginning, the service has been received very well, which led to localization into more languages. Nowadays, the forum exists in more than 20 languages and 34 countries throughout the world.
The service is intended for anyone who wants to identify the owner of an unknown phone number. The creators of the forum have also recently created the mobile app Call Insider for Android phones. This app, which is connected to the database of the website numberlookup.com.au, also allows users to automatically block telemarketing numbers.

Person purporting to be from a bank or credit card provider,
your accounts are under threat or there are unusual transactions
the caller is going to help to protect your money by sending it outside of the bank
You need to download software that allows access to your phone (Android usually)
Scammer moves money to another bank or crypto currency
Do not allow anyone to access your mobile or computer, install third-part remote access software, and if you are worried your accounts are compromised - call your bank immediately..

Scam. Claimed to be from visa and Mastercard investigating a fraudulent claim on a commonwealth account. Tried to direct me to look up a website and I said I wanted to call them back. Gave me this number and I looked it up and saw the other comments

These guys called and said there had been a fraudulent transaction using one of credit cards. They wanted me to download a quick support app to keep track of the incident. When I said I didn't feel comfortable downloading the app, they gave me the number 0280062560. Then I googled the number and found all the scam warnings!

This number called me today claiming to be from mastercard and visa and investigating a suspicious transaction. I asked how I can verify the authenticity of this call and they gave me the 02 8006 2560 number. I didn't tell them anything and you shouldn't either.

SCAM ALERT!!!! Had guy call me with an accent from 0494 094 092 saying his name was Barry Atkins from the fraud squad at the ANZ bank. He tried to get me to load TeamViewer support for my iPhone to get my IP address. Told me there had been some suspicious activity from my account and that someone in Colorado had tried to transfer a large some of money out of my account. When I asked to call back to confirm this was legitimate he gave me the number 02 800 62560

Scam. Called by this number. Told unusually activity on my account with somebody in Colorado trying to back my account. Couldn’t tell me the name of my bank just that They were from visa MasterCard. They asked what device I was using which I did not tell them. They wanted me to download a plug in in order to catch the thief. Scam. Do not trust this number.

THIS NUMBER IS A SCAM.They called my mother and claimed to be from the fraud department and said they were investigating a suspicious transaction on her account. They gained access to her computer and asked her to login to her online banking, also asked her to login to her APPLE ID. I called 02 8006 2560 back and someone answered with an Indian accent. I told them I was going to report them to the authorities and the man yelled and swore at me. PLEASE BEWARE. I have reported this to Scam Watch.
